Snow Leopard Tips

Snow Leopard is now available, so if you have an Intel Mac should you upgrade? First thing to note is that this is a very cheap upgrade being £23 for a single licence and £39 for a family pack. The thing is Apple have made it quite clear that this upgrade is more about under the hood improvements than loads of new features. In fact at WWDC it was billed as having 0 new features.

Can Android do Panoramas?

For the sake of impartiality I also bought an application called Photostitch for Android. Photostitch does not use any complex algorithms to align the photos (unlike Pano or Autostitch for iPhone). Alignment is completely manual. The developers have tried to make this easy by including horizontal and vertical spirit levels and also ghosting (like Pano).

iPhone App review – Pano vs Autostitch

Taking panoramic photographs is become more popular and accessible with the ever increasing evolution of digital cameras and photography software. However, they are quite difficult to do well and normally require expensive equipment (such as tripods and pano-heads).

But of course with the iPhone there is an app for that (or in fact 2 good ones I have come across).
